Movement and change are important aspects of my current public and studio work. I value surprise and look for multiple meanings and gently humorous sub-texts, to keep my work fresh and a bit mysterious.

When passers-by chuckle at the similarities between a sweet gum pod and a land mine, they may also be thinking about how new retail development will affect a historic downtown, in ways that are yet to be understood. I am interested in how we are able to navigate and move through the inevitable and frequent changes that characterize our world today.

In pushing my own explorations of movement and change, I appreciate evolving partnerships with friends and strangers, flowing water and scientists, traffic and light, time and color.
